Truffle hunting: First dates announcement for visitors of the area

The Truffle Hunting season starts!

The Truffle Hunting at Meteora season starts in March and lasts till late October. You can enjoy a unique experience either as a member of a travel group or on a private basis. However, the Museum announces today the first dates for 2022 in which individual visitors of the area of Meteora can join a shared truffle hunting tour.

The dates are:

March: 6, 7, 13, 20, 26, 27

April: 10, 23, 25, 26, 30

May: 1, 15, 22, 29

June: 5, 12, 13, 26

July: 10, 31

August: 7, 14, 28

September: 4, 18, 25

October: 9, 16, 28, 29, 30

The tour’s program lasts about 3 hours and the program includes a unique truffle hunt with specially trained truffle dogs, a delicious truffle pasta dish in the forest, cooked with the truffles found by the truffle dogs, tasting different types of mushrooms such as the sweet mushroom, as well as an excellent wine and visit and guided tour in the Museum.
