Truffle Hunting at Meteora begins! Join the first tours on the 6th and 7th of March!

Truffle Hunting season begins!

After all the problems created by the pandemic, we hope that the truffle hunting tours of this season will take place “normally”. The season’s duration is from March 1st to October 31st and the first truffle hunting tours are scheduled for March 6th and 7th.

It is an alternative activity in the area of Meteora, that offers not only the joy of finding this expensive underground mushroom but also the acquaintance with its special taste. Combined with the knowledge about mushrooms and truffles offered by the visit and guided tour to the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, this is a complete and extremely enjoyable experience.

Everyone can join a tour; travel groups, school groups or even individual visitors of the area of Meteora, who can join the shared tours that the Museum announces. There is also the option of a private tour, which is offered in two packages: the classic one and the Premium one with more provides. .

The truffle hunting tour’s program lasts about 3 hours and includes:

i. Truffle hunting in the forest with specially trained dogs

ii. Mushroom product tasting in the forest

iii. Truffle pasta dish cooking in the forest and lunch accompanied by a glass of local wine

iv. Visit and guided tour to the Museum
