The 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalambaka, organized by the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, will start on Thursday, June 8th, and will last until Sunday, June 11th.

Since the aim is to make people better acquainted with truffles and mushrooms, there will be seminars about the cultivation of truffles, the training of dogs to find them, their nutritional value, the truffles of Greece, and basic knowledge of mushroom knowledge.

Also, the top Greek chef, Mr. Lefteris Lazarou, will cook and introduce the secrets of truffles to the chefs of the region at the DIVANI Hotel, as well as to the visitors to the central square.

The highlight of the Festival will be on Saturday, when about 30 chefs of the IEK DELTA 360°, led by the head of the Gastronomy Department, Mr. Dotsios Adamos, will cook with the contribution of the catering AIGLI, thousands of servings of truffle dishes for the visitors.

All days there will be a wealth of activities for children, including dancing dewdrops, while the groups of The Teasers (Friday) and Manitarock (Saturday) will entertain the participants.

At the same time, at the Festival site, in Riga Feraiou Square, there will be truffle hunters and growers ready to answer visitors’ questions.

It should be noted that all the above are provided FREE of charge, due to the great support that the Festival received from the professionals of the region and beyond.

Lefteris Lazarou, leading Greek chef and owner of the award-winning restaurant “Varoulko”.

The event is addressed to the chefs of the restaurants and hotels of the region.
