2nd Panhellenic Truffle Festival at Kalambaka 10-13 of October

After the great success of the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival held last year, which even got a gold award at the Tourism Awards 2024, the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora and the support of the Region of Thessaly, organizes the 2nd Panhellenic Truffle Festival to be held from 10 to 13 October. It will take place in Kalambaka, the so-called “City of Truffles” and the organizers promise that it will be even better than the one in 2023.

If we even take into account that last year during the event 11,000 visitors passed by, many seminars were held and more than 20,000 portions of truffle and mushroom dishes and appetizers were distributed, we realize that this year, with the new actions added, it will literally be a blast!

The President of the Organizing Committee for the Festival is the top chef and owner of the award-winning restaurant “Varoulko”, Mr. Lefteris Lazarou, who also gave a special culinary touch to last year’s Festival, creating rare dishes with truffles and mushrooms. It should be noted here that everything is provided FREE OF CHARGE. Thus, visitors and local residents can learn all about truffles (cultivation, truffle dogs, etc.), enjoy dishes cooked on the spot by dozens of chefs from truffles and mushrooms, have fun and dance with renowned artists, while children every day can participate in events that will be held especially for them. This year, the well-known and beloved “gastronomy traveler”, Mr. Elias Mamalakis, will also be awarded in a special ceremony, as well as a renowned chef, with a long career in Greece and abroad, who is highly respected and appreciated in his field, Mr. Nikos Sarantos.
