Promotion of catering outlets

The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum decided to highlight the catering establishments that offer special dishes with truffles and mushrooms on their menus. This is part of the ‘City of Truffles’ decision and aims to reward all those who support this effort.

The presentation will be made through the means available to the Museum (website, social media, magazine, etc.).

For this purpose, it has sent a letter to the catering outlets of the Regional Unit of Trikala, in which it explains the details, which you can find below:

Dear Sir or Madam,

As you probably know, the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum publishes a quarterly electronic magazine called “FysiOrama”, which is sent to about 13,500 recipients (tourist agencies, food stores, schools, etc.). It is published continuously and 30 issues have been published so far. All the issues are posted on the Museum’s website and are constantly updated (click here).

The Museum, in the context of promoting Kalambaka as the “City of Truffles”, has decided, starting with the next issue, which will be published on October 1, to present, at no cost whatsoever, those restaurants that include certain truffle and mushroom dishes in their menus. A brief presentation of the shop (history, location, special features, etc.), the truffle and mushroom dishes on offer, and a short interview with the owner about the shop, Truffle Town, etc. will be given.

This effort aims to introduce the visitor of the “City of Truffles” to the catering outlets, not only in Kalambaka but also in the wider Regional Unit of Trikala, where he can enjoy these unrepeatable fruits of nature.

The presentation of the shops will be a function of the magazine’s material each time, but also of the order of priority, i.e. when each of them will notify the Museum that they belong to the category in which the visitor will find the specific dishes. Τhere should also be the corresponding photographic material, to make the presentation as good as possible.
