The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum continuously receives awards in various competitions. In 2023, it took part in six competitions and received a total of eighteen awards! These awards relate either to the Museum generally or to its activities, such as the Truffle Hunting at Meteora or to the museum’s mushroom products. Of these, one is PLATINUM, ten GOLD, five SILVER, and two BRONZE.
The fact that in the nine years of its operation, it has received a total of sixty-four awards makes it perhaps the most awarded museum in Greece.
It is no coincidence, moreover, that despite the fact that it started its operation during the economic crisis, despite the fact that it is a regional museum, its attendance is constantly increasing, and its activities attract visitors from all over the world. The internet is, in this case, an irrefutable judge since the vast majority of the reviews from visitors are excellent.
As the Director of the Museum, Mr. Nikos Pallas, says, “These awards increase our responsibility to offer quality services, which at the same time enrich the local tourist product and highlight its comparative advantages.”
