Learning about truffles at the seminars of the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalabaka

A series of interesting seminars about truffles will take place during the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalabaka, from June 8 to 11, 2023.

In these seminars, the participants will have the opportunity to learn all the secrets about truffles (cultivation, truffle hunting with dogs, cooking etc.).

Specifically:

On Thursday, June 8th at 19:00, at “Nitsa Liapi” Hall, Mrs Nola Katerina and Mr Milonas Vasilis, cultivators of truffles, will speak about the cultivation of truffles, its benefits and prospects, while Mr Christos Plesiotis, dog trainer and truffle hunter, will talk about the training of truffle hunt dogs etc.

On Friday, at 18:00 at the Divani Hotel, an event-seminar will be held on the topic: “Mushrooms and truffles in our lives”. This event is exclusively about the chefs of the restaurants and hotels of the area. In that event, Mrs. Olga Gortzi professor at the University of Thessaly, will discuss the nutritional value and benefits of truffles and mushrooms.

At the end of this event, Greece’s top chef Lefteris Lazarou, will present cooking recipes with truffles and mushrooms and discuss the theme of this event with the participants.

On Saturday, at 18:45 at “Nitsa Liapi” Hall, Mr George Konstantinidis, chief of the Greek Mushroom Society, and Mr Vasilis Kaounas, member of the Board of this society, will speak about mushroom cognition in Greece, as well as about truffles in our country.

It is obvious that these seminars have a lot to offer to the participants, which is why participation is expected to be high. And it becomes obvious that the Festival is not only about fun but also about knowledge.
