“Golden” The First Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalambaka

The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum has received the gold award by Tourism Awards, for the organization of the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival that took place from 8 to 11 June 2023. This is the largest tourism awards institution in Greece, which takes place every year and in which hundreds of tourism businesses from all over the country participate. The museum has been awarded many times by this institution for its activities.

This celebration, which this year will take place in the first ten days of October, was held in the context of Kalambaka’s adoption as the “City of Truffles.” It has the full support of the Municipality of Meteora, which the Museum warmly thanks.

The success of this celebration was very great, a fact attested by the participation of thousands of visitors, who enjoyed thousands of free portions of mushroom-truffle recipes, cultural events, seminars on truffles, activities for children, etc.

The Museum, in addition to the Municipality of Meteora, mentioned above, would like to thank the dozens of volunteers and sponsors of the festival, without whose contribution it would have been impossible to realize the event. The Museum also thanks the Region and the University of Thessaly, as well as the leading Greek chef, Mr. Lefteris Lazarou, whose help was decisive both during the preparation and during the event.

This year’s celebration is already being prepared and will have many interesting surprises. See you in October in Meteora!
