The top Greek chef and owner of the award-winning restaurant “Varoulko”, Mr Lefteris Lazarou, will take part in the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival in Kalambaka, organized by the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum.
The presence of Mr Lazarou, apart from its strong symbolism, will be very meaningful. He will participate in two events, which will essentially focus on the use of truffles and mushrooms in our cuisine.
The first will be on Friday at 18:00 at the DIVANI Hotel and will exclusively involve the chefs of restaurants and hotels in the wider region of Trikala. There, together with Mrs Olga Gortzi, professor of the University of Thessaly, who will refer to the general nutritional value of truffles and mushrooms, will demonstrate cooking with dishes related to truffles and mushrooms, while they will also answer questions from the participants, related to the theme of the event.
The second will be on Saturday at 20:00, where he will cook on the main stage, in Riga Feraio Square, in front of the visitors with raw materials of the same ingredients, while at the same time, he will introduce us to their secrets.
At this event, he will also present to the public an 850g truffle, one of the largest found in Greece this year, which was found by the Museum’s partner Mrs Nola Katerina, a truffle farmer and truffle hunter.
Finally, it should be noted that Mr Lazarou is participating in the Festival pro bono, for which the Museum thanks him very much.
